Schools should be safe, transparent, and laser-focused on helping every kid learn and grow. These four priorities guide everything I'll do on the White Bear Lake School Board.

Transparency & Accountability
Families deserve to know what's happening in their schools — and to have a real voice in decisions that affect their kids.
- Make school board decisions and discussions easier for families to follow.
- Support greater access to meetings, including livestreaming public forums.
- Encourage clear, timely communication from the district.
- Ask questions and expect measurable accountability for district decisions and spending.
- Make sure parents and community members have meaningful opportunities to be heard.

School Safety & Security
Students can't learn if they don't feel safe. Physical security and emergency preparedness must be a genuine priority — not just a checkbox.
- Make physical safety and emergency preparedness a priority.
- Support appropriate security measures without creating an unnecessarily restrictive school environment.
- Ensure concerns from parents, students, and staff are taken seriously and addressed promptly.
- Regularly evaluate whether current safety procedures are actually working.

Better Nutrition & Student Health
What kids eat at school affects how well they learn. Nutritious, quality meals are an investment in student success.
- Advocate for nutritious, balanced meals that give students the fuel they need to learn.
- Look for opportunities to improve the quality and variety of school food.
- Consider nutrition, food quality, and student feedback when evaluating meal programs.
- Encourage practical improvements that are sustainable within the district's budget.

Academic Excellence
Every child deserves a rigorous, engaging education that prepares them for the future. Academic achievement must be the core mission of our schools.
- Keep academic achievement at the center of every school board decision.
- Support teachers with the resources and training they need to help students succeed.
- Review curriculum and instruction to ensure students are being challenged and prepared.
- Use data to identify achievement gaps and hold the district accountable for closing them.
- Ensure every student — regardless of background or ability — has access to a high-quality education.
